Rules of Conduct for a Safe Trip

The Rules of Conduct Are Always in Effect

Maintain a positive attitude throughout the trip. That shouldn't be too hard, considering all the fun you will have exploring and learning new things!

LATENESS will not be tolerated. It is unacceptable that an entire group be kept waiting because of one dawdler. Remember, as this is a group trip, everyone must abide by the rules for group travel. Be sure to always have the hotel address and phone number, a trip leader's phone number and about US$30 with you so that you can take a taxi back to the hotel should you miss the scheduled meet-up time.

Drinking ALCOHOL or having it in your possession at the hotel or at any other time during the trip is considered a serious breach of the rules. If you break this rule, the trip leaders will immediately send you back to Québec by plane at your parents' expense. That wouldn't be cool, now, would it?

The same applies for DRUGS. If American or Canadian customs officers catch you with drugs, the authorities will detain you, and your parents will have to come to resolve the legal proceedings initiated against you.

Your Attitude and Behaviour in the Motorcoach

Upon boarding the motorcoach, find a seat and sit QUIETLY so that the trip leaders can take attendance.

The driver appreciates when you greet and thank him or her.

The motorcoach is the primary form of transportation for the group during the trip. Make an effort to keep it clean.

Only use the motorcoach toilet if you cannot hold it. Don't worry, we will be making frequent restroom stops.

The only devices permitted for listening to music are an iPod or MP3 player.

Your Attitude and Behaviour in a Public Place

NEVER GO ANYWHERE ALONE. Always TRAVEL IN A SMALL GROUP, even if you are just going to the bathroom.

Do not go outside without permission.

When in a public place, you must always be PATIENT AND COURTEOUS.

Your Attitude and Behaviour at the Hotel

The only key to your room will be given to your team leader.

Never leave any valuables in your room. Unattended property could get stolen.

DO NOT make noise in the hallways and take care to never slam any doors. There are other guests staying at the hotel besides your group.

You are not allowed to leave the hotel.

Treat the furnishings in your room with care. Should anything get broken, your parents will have to pay for the damage. It goes without saying that this applies to every place you visit during the trip.

When LIGHTS OUT is announced, no-one is allowed to leave his or her room. If you need anything, call one of the trip leaders. Be aware that security guards may have your group's rooms under surveillance all night.

Pack your bags the day before, and not the morning of, your departure. Otherwise, you run the risk of being late.

Your co-operation is appreciated and will help ensure your school trip is a success.
